2019 Ridgecrest earthquake sequence

Stress changes at the hypocenter of the M7.1 Ridgecrest, CA earthquake, due to previous nearby earthquakes. Stress changes are computed on vertical faults of variable strike, at depth of 7 km:

a pair of M5+ 1995 events mp4 movie

M6.4 7/4/2019 foreshock, left-lateral faults only mp4 movie

M6.4 7/4/2019 foreshock, left- and right-lateral faults mp4 movie (11 Mb)

M5.4 7/5/2019 foreshock mp4 movie

combined M6.4 2019, M5.4 2019, and M5+ 1995 events mp4 movie

Dependence on the hypocenter depth:

combined M6.4 2019, M5.4 2019, and M5+ 1995 events, at depth of 3 km mp4 movie

Fixed strike, variable depth:
